People by Libianca, which is now the highest ranking African song on the UK Official Singles list, has created history.
With her track “People,” which discusses the misery and loneliness of an increasingly challenging and individualistic world, Cameroonian-American singer Libianca made a splash in the music industry.
‘People‘ has seen a rise in popularity both abroad and in Nigeria since its release. In the most recent UK Singles Chart (April 14–20, 2023), the song has now peaked at No. 2, marking a new record high.
As a result, it breaks CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’s’ previous peak record of No. 3 to become the highest ranking African song in the history of the list.
Rema’s remix of Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” climbs one spot this week to reclaim its No. 4 peak position. Rush by Ayra Starr, which has been on the chart for 12 weeks, falls 3 spots to No. 27.
After debuting at No. 6O last week, Davido’s song “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys now ranks No. 70.
