Before the Premier League season is through, Arsenal hopes to reveal Bukayo Saka’s new contract.
The England forward and the club have been in negotiations since last year, and because he is determined to sign a new contract, it may now be completed before the summer break.
The only player in the Premier League to record ten goals and ten assists, Bukayo Saka, 21, has been essential to Arsenal’ bid for the league title this year.
In order to take Mikel Arteta’s team reach second place and stay in the title race going into the final few weeks of the season, he has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists.
In addition to scoring three goals at the World Cup, when England advanced to the quarterfinals in Qatar, Bukayo Saka has missed just one hour of league play this year.
The two parties had been in discussions with Arsenal about new terms since last summer, and Bukayo Saka stated in August that he “shared confidence” with Mikel Arteta that he would extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The academy graduate’s current contract, which was signed in the summer of 2020 and expires the following year, is reportedly close to being finalized, according to the PA news agency.
It is thought that the promotional video that will be published along with the announcement has already been finished, and the transaction still needs to go through some final details.
Granit Xhaka could depart this summer, but Bukayo Saka is close to securing his long-term future with Arsenal.
It is thought that if the team receives an offer they deem acceptable, they would be willing to allow the Switzerland captain, whose contract also expires in 2024, leave.
