Should Antonio Conte decide to leave Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham head coach Marco Silva has reportedly emerged as a top candidate to take over at Tottenham.
With his contract scheduled to expire at the end of this year, Conte’s future at Tottenham is still up in the air.
Although the former Chelsea manager has the option to extend his contract by another year, it seems more and more likely that he will leave Tottenham in the summer.
Due to recent eliminations from the FA Cup and Champions League, Tottenham is likely to finish another year without winning any trophies.
They will also be up against stiff competition from Newcastle, Liverpool, and Brighton if they want to place in the top four of the Premier League.
If Tottenham’s chances of competing in the UEFA Champions League appear to be in jeopardy, chairman Daniel Levy may be compelled to split ways with Conte.
The Sun also claims that Silva may be the club’s top pick to succeed the departing former Inter Milan manager.
With his return to English football in the summer of 2021, Silva has presided over a stunning resurgence for Fulham.
His side is still in the running for a spot in Europe for the upcoming season and currently holds down the eighth spot in the Premier League standings.
