Since Joan Laporta became the club’s new president, Barcelona and La Liga have been engaged in a contentious spat. The league’s president, Javier Tebas, has publicly insulted the Catalan giants and has made no effort to hide his dislike for them.
He even stated that he will use all of his resources to prevent Barcelona from making acquisitions in the summer. The league actually created a brand-new regulation to prevent the team from registering Gavi’s new contract.
Although Tebas and Laporta have both used the media to criticize one another, things are certain to get worse now that the La Liga president has demanded the latter’s resignation.
Laporta should be removed from his position at Barcelona by the President of the Spanish Federation (RFEF).
Tebas said to Onda Cero.
The current Barcelona presidency is Laporta’s second. As he was able to keep the club financially afloat during his first term, he has earned the reputation of being the best president the club has ever had.
When Lionel Messi first began playing for the club’s senior side, the Spanish politician had criticized Tebas for being against the Argentinean’s registration.
I would also like to say that Mr. Tebas has already come to the fore again. Some had already warned us that Tebas seemed to be promoting a reputational campaign against Barça and against me. The mask has come off.
“I remember that he is a person who in his career has already demonstrated his animosity towards Barça. Back in 2005, he didn’t want Messi to play for Barça. He does not forgive us for not signing the agreement with CVC.”
Laporta said.
Until Barcelona finds a viable financial solution to their issues or Tebas stops changing the laws to make life worse for the blaugranes, this feud is set to continue.
