Mason Mount and Chelsea have been unable to come to terms on a new deal. He may look to quit the club in the summer, according to rumors. According to a story in The Times, Bayern Munich is now eager to hire the England international. The midfielder is wanted by the Blues for at least £50 million.

After firing Julian Nagelsmann due to some subpar league results, the German club recently appointed Thomas Tuchel as their manager. While managing Chelsea, Tuchel collaborated with Mount, and the 24-year-old was an important member of the team for the German coach at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea, Mount assisted Tuchel in his UEFA Champions League victory. That the German is seeking a reunion at Bayern Munich is not surprising. The English midfielder is currently valued at £50 million despite his contractual predicament.

Throughout the past three seasons, Mount has consistently been one of Chelsea’s top players. He still serves as a crucial piece of equipment for the Blues despite his decline in form this season.

To what extent Chelsea is willing to let him go at the end of the campaign will be interesting to observe. It appears that Mount is holding out for a lucrative contract and wants Chelsea to extend an offer to him that reflects his position on the wing.

The best course of action for Chelsea would be to try to keep him at the club as long as they can and to present him with a sizable offer soon. One of the league’s top midfielders, the England international will probably get better with training and experience. If he left, Chelsea’s midfield would be seriously compromised. The course of the crisis is yet uncertain, therefore.

As all is going on, Bayern Munich could use more finesse and goals from the midfield. Also, the 24-year-old appears to be a good choice. Also capable of hiring him for £50 million are the Bundesliga champions.

The chance to flourish in the Bundesliga could be enticing for Mount, who has proven his talent in the Premier League. The 24-year-old also performed admirably at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel.

So, he might perform at his best once more after seeing his German management. Premier League powerhouse Liverpool has also been mentioned in connection with the player. Instead than bolstering a direct opponent, Chelsea will presumably choose to transfer the player elsewhere.
